Yamato Dojo

The Yamato Dojo regularly receives visiting Aikidoka from overseas and warmly welcomes the opportunity to enrich its Aikido experience and broaden its exchange of Aikido knowledge, friendship and community.

As a branch of Buikukan-Provence school students joining the Yamato Dojo qualify for registration with Buikukan Provence and benefit from being part of an established traditional Aikido school with direct lineage to the teachings of Morihei Ueshiba (O’Sensei).

The Dojo welcomes anyone who wants to discover Aikido as a form of self defence and martial art. Whether you are a new student or an experienced Aikidoka feel free to stop by the dojo to observe, ask questions…or practice.

The Yamato Dojo was founded in 2006 by Kevin Bonanno, who is the technical coordinator. Kevin started training Aikido at the age of 18 in 1993 and in 2001 was one of the first three maltese students promoted to Shodan by E.Sicali Sensei.

In 2007 he was examined by Osaka Buikukai and certified by the Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba the present leader of the Aikido Hombu Dojo – Aikikai Foundation Tokyo, Japan.
Kevin is also a certified sports coaching instructor. He is assisted by senior students at the Dojo.
